Taxidermy Collections Legal & Custom Work Terms

At Taxidermy Collections, each piece is a handcrafted, made-to-order work of wildlife artistry. Because of the custom nature, biological materials, and extensive manual labor involved, all commissions are governed by strict production and payment terms designed to protect both the client and the integrity of the studio’s craftsmanship.

This policy ensures transparency, fairness, and professional clarity for all parties involved.

CUSTOM COMMISSIONS ARE FINAL SALE

All taxidermy commissions are final sale upon confirmation of production.

Once a project enters the crafting phase, it becomes a bespoke, non-replicable artwork created specifically for the client’s request. For this reason:

  • Orders cannot be canceled once production begins
  • Completed custom pieces cannot be returned
  • Refunds are not issued for change of mind or preference adjustments after approval

Each piece is individually designed, sculpted, and finished — it cannot be resold or reused.

DEPOSIT POLICY

To secure a commission, a deposit is required.

Deposit Conditions:

  • Deposits confirm studio scheduling and resource allocation
  • Deposits are non-refundable once work has commenced
  • Deposits cover initial material preparation and planning costs

This ensures fairness due to the time-intensive nature of each project.

CLIENT APPROVAL STAGES

To maintain clarity and alignment throughout production, key stages of work may include client review points.

At these stages:

  • Design direction may be confirmed
  • Pose or composition may be validated
  • Habitat or aesthetic decisions may be reviewed

Once a stage is approved, it is considered finalized and will not be reversed, as physical work progresses beyond that point.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Before production begins:

  • Cancellation requests may be considered on a case-by-case basis
  • Administrative or preparation costs may be deducted

After production begins:

  • Orders cannot be canceled under any circumstances
  • Materials and labor commitments are already in progress

This reflects the custom-built nature of each commission.

RETURNS POLICY

Due to the nature of taxidermy and wildlife preservation work:

  • Returns are not accepted on completed commissions
  • Each piece is uniquely crafted and cannot be restocked or resold
  • Ownership transfers upon final delivery and acceptance

Once delivered, the piece becomes the full responsibility of the client.

DAMAGED OR DEFECTIVE SHIPMENTS

We take extreme care in packaging and shipping every commission. However, in the rare event of transit-related damage:

Required Steps:

  1. Report the issue within 48 hours of delivery
  2. Provide clear photographic documentation
  3. Preserve original packaging for inspection if required

Resolution Process:

  • Insurance claims will be initiated where applicable
  • Repair or restoration solutions will be evaluated
  • Studio support will guide the resolution process

Each case is handled individually and professionally.

ARTISTIC VARIATION DISCLAIMER

Taxidermy is a handcrafted art form. As such:

  • Minor artistic variations may occur between concept and final piece
  • Natural materials may present subtle differences in texture or tone
  • These variations are inherent to handmade wildlife artistry

Such variations are not considered defects but part of authentic craftsmanship.

RESTORATION WORK TERMS

For restoration services:

  • Pre-existing conditions may limit restoration outcomes
  • Full restoration to “new condition” may not always be possible
  • Results depend on age, damage level, and material stability

We always aim to improve structure, appearance, and longevity while preserving original character.

INTERNATIONAL ORDERS

For international clients:

  • Refunds are not issued due to customs delays or regulatory holds
  • Clients are responsible for import clearance unless otherwise agreed
  • We assist with documentation, but cannot override government regulations

All shipments comply with applicable international wildlife trade laws.

CLIENT RESPONSIBILITY

By commissioning work from Taxidermy Collections, the client acknowledges:

  • Understanding of the custom nature of taxidermy
  • Agreement to non-refundable production terms
  • Acceptance of final craftsmanship standards once approved
  • Responsibility for proper care after delivery

OUR POLICY PHILOSOPHY

We operate on a principle of craft integrity and transparency.

Every mount represents:

  • Hours of skilled labor
  • Specialized material preparation
  • Irreplaceable biological composition
  • Individual artistic decision-making

Because of this, our policies are designed not as restrictions, but as protections for the craft itself.

FINAL NOTE

We encourage all clients to ask questions before commissioning. Clarity at the beginning ensures excellence at the end.

Taxidermy Collections is committed to delivering work that meets professional standards of artistry, legality, and longevity.
